We The People
By Tammy Derouin
It is a fact that the state of our country is indeed in dire peril. What is not only sad but also alarming is when the current day powers that be, try to discredit the words of our very foundation. Political philosophy will differ among people. It is the duty of the people to make sure that those that govern stay within the parameters of our Constitution.
We the people have slowly allowed our government to have or take more power than was ever intended. We have allowed our government to remove the very foundation that our nation was built on, God. Without God, we will surly succumb to the fate of so many other countries. The proof is that the prior sentence stands to be mocked. So why is it that our country has taken a downward plunge since we slowly began to remove God from our lives? Our founders were Christians. They believed in God. They didn’t feel it was the government’s place to dictate what religion or denomination each individual followed. There was a time when not only God, but the history of our country, was a part of our daily lives. It was taught openly and without fear. This country has, over time, turned its back on its own history and on God. This country is in peril for a reason. We are also making another life threatening mistake. The president, his administration, and many Americans are turning on Israel. Lessons that were once part of our daily lives have been forgotten.
Our founders knew that as our country aged and progressed our foundation would be challenged. It is the duty of every citizen to hold our government accountable for the actions it takes. We need to question openly and without fear. We need to preserve the gift of freedom that we fought for and must continue to fight for.
The founders warned about debt to foreign nations. They knew the ill effects of debt and how it limits our freedom. The founders believed in checks and balances. If the president assumes too much power, the other branches are supposed to challenge that power. The founders believed in individual and state rights. They emphasized a strong local self-government. There was an understanding that individuals had the ability to think and reason. In these few examples alone, it doesn’t take much to realize how far we have strayed. The examples of a government that has become too powerful over the people are too numerous to list. This isn’t a problem that began with the current administration. They are not the only ones that are guilty of overstepping the boundaries. This administration has put forth policies in so many areas that it has caused people to wake up. Other administrations have gotten away with power grabs for one reason or another. National security seems to be the most popular. The founders warned against that one as well. This doesn’t excuse the abuse of power. This administration has taken too much in too many areas.
Our past is now part of our history. The future is up to us. Do we try to reclaim that which has been lost or do we continue on a path that will lead to our destruction?

Playing Chicken Little is not virtuous behavior. Again, you contradict yourself whenever you write.
The Founders gave the vote ONLY to land owning White Men. We used to call them “Nobles” or “Aristocrats”. No one else’s opinion mattered. No one else was empowered to play in the political waters. Ponder that, little miss “losing YOUR America”. YOUR America, a virtuous land founded by those who loved Christianity and respected everyone in the country…never existed. It is a figment of your ignorance addled imagination. “Boo Hoo. The Sky is Falling.” You are the weakest, most cowardly, blatantly hypocritical, intentionally deceitful, pseudo political, pseudo writer on the Net today. I’m sure Fox News is just waiting with baited breath to offer you a spot as a daily propagandist…Manager of the Two Minute Hate…political pundit. You are every bit the ignorant hack the Fox public loves to get their hate on with. You are straight out of George Orwell’s Ministry of Truth. YOU…are a liar. And YOU love it. YOU are one sick puppy. Please stop writing. You are only making your readers more ignorant, if you have any readers at all.
Rome embraced Christianity…and Fell. Premise refuted.
